Ciao, My Lovely Friends!
I hope you are all in good health and ready to start today’s virtual tour of the Sorrento countryside! Those of you who enjoy trekking and have spent extended stays in my region have likely had the chance to appreciate the little towns and their old farming traditions. Today’s featured destination is Schiazzano, in Massa Lubrense just outside Sorrento, very well-known for its lemon groves.
Specifically, we will visit the Turziello Farm, a small family-run business, where the passion for nature and genuine things is handed down from generation to generation. The enogastronomic tour “Schiazzano e Tradizioni” began in 2011 with the aim of celebrating the flourishing traditions of Schiazzano. This tour, devised by Benedetto De Gregorio and Lucio Esposito, masters in the art of Provolone Del Monaco, lemon production, and pizza Margherita, was an instant success. Anyone who has met Benedetto, Lucio, and their families will attest to how passionate they are about their professions.
Farming is a tough job — it requires Love and Respect for the environment, for the animals, and, more broadly, for Nature itself. We can all agree these are noble goals. So let’s take a look. Have fun!!!
